Microbait May Beetle are handcrafted topwater wobblers designed to imitate one of the most distinctive and high-calorie insects that fall into the water. This lure is built for situations where fish actively target larger prey on the surface.
The May beetle is an easy target for predatory fish – a large, heavy insect that struggles on the surface after falling into the water. This behavior is accurately reflected in the lure’s action. It features a pronounced side-to-side movement combined with high buoyancy, allowing for natural presentation and highly effective surface fishing.
This model has been developed primarily for chub and ide, but thanks to its larger profile and more aggressive action, it performs equally well when targeting other species. In practice, it is effective for trout, grayling, perch and rudd, and in the right conditions it can even trigger pike attacks.
Due to its lightweight construction and precise balance, the lure works best with light spinning setups. The manufacturer recommends using a thin monofilament line around 0.12 mm and attaching the lure with a single snap without a swivel to maintain its natural action.
