Dorado Courier is a sinking lure designed specifically for asp fishing. Its slim baitfish-like profile, almost vertically positioned lip and relatively high weight make it well suited to long casts, which is especially important when targeting feeding asp at distance.
Courier measures 7 cm / 2.8 in and weighs 11 g. During a steady retrieve it produces a tight, flashing action with only slight tail movement, matching the style of lure commonly used for fast-paced asp fishing.
One of the most distinctive features of this model is its behaviour on the fall. The lure continues to flash when the retrieve is slowed down, so it does not simply lose its action when the angler reduces speed. This can be especially useful when an asp follows the lure but does not commit to the strike immediately.
During normal casting retrieves, Courier runs shallow at around 50 cm. The design was tested in both rivers and reservoirs, two typical environments where asp often hunt small baitfish close to the surface.
