Guideline Coastal Evolve WF is a modern weight forward fly line designed specifically for demanding coastal fly fishing. For many years, the Coastal series has been a reference choice for coastal anglers across Europe – the Evolve version takes these proven characteristics to the next level.
The optimized WF taper with slightly more mass in the front section delivers long, controlled casts and clean fly turnover – even in strong headwinds. This makes the line an excellent choice for targeting sea trout, sea bass, mullet and other coastal species that feed in shallow water.
The head length is carefully balanced to load the rod efficiently while maintaining excellent stability. Compared to the first Coastal generation, Coastal Evolve offers improved roll-over power and is significantly less affected by wind. The thinner running line reduces friction in the guides and allows for increased casting distance.
The Slow Intermediate version sinks at approximately 1.25 cm per second and stays just below the surface – perfect for spooky fish in shallow water. Its discreet head color minimizes shadows and surface disturbance. The Fast Intermediate version sinks at around 3.8 cm per second, making it ideal for fishing edges, deeper water or when a faster fly presentation is required.
The Direct Contact core with only 5% stretch provides excellent sensitivity and immediate feedback, allowing you to feel even the lightest takes. The PVC-free coating without softeners is smooth, durable and makes Coastal Evolve an environmentally responsible choice for modern fly anglers.
Despite its coastal focus, the Coastal Evolve WF is also a superb option for trout and rainbow trout fishing in stillwater. On windy days, it excels with high stability and precise presentations just below the surface, where fish often feed in turbulent conditions.
