Slider-style jerkbaits with sharp side-to-side action
Shimano Yasei Javelin Jerk is a classic slider-style jerkbait lure designed for active predator fishing. Rod jerks or short, fast turns of the reel handle make the lure vibrate and change direction sharply, creating an erratic action that imitates a weakened or injured fish. The Javelin Jerk responds well to changes in retrieve speed and pauses. When stopped, it quickly regains its balance and, depending on the version, either remains suspended in the water or begins to sink slowly. This allows an angler to combine aggressive movements with longer pauses. Its carefully positioned centre of gravity supports long and accurate casting, making it easier to cover large areas of water, shallow flats and submerged weed beds. The side-to-side movement, flashing and sudden changes of direction make the lure particularly suited to active jerkbait fishing. The range includes a slow-sinking 110 mm (4.3 in) model weighing 33 g, a slow-sinking 160 mm (6.3 in) model weighing 100 g, and a suspending 160 mm (6.3 in) SP version weighing 98 g with a running depth of around 1.5 m.
