Savage Gear Alpha SG8 Big Bait rods are powerful two-piece spinning rods designed for casting and working large Big Bait lures. The series was developed for heavy spinning with large soft and hard lures.
Both models have a fast action and an Extra Heavy power class. The strong blanks provide support during casting, working heavy lures and making firm hooksets, including at longer casting distances.
The blanks are made from Japanese Torayca carbon and reinforced with 4X Wrap V2 technology. Reset Accelerator technology supports fast blank recovery after bending, while the ergonomically shaped Duragrip STC handle helps provide a stable grip when working with heavy lures.
The rods are fitted with Fuji SiC guides and a Fuji reel seat. A neoprene rod bag is included. The series comprises 2.43 and 2.59 m models with casting weights of 28–112 and 36–126 g, weighing 230 and 240 g.
