Lucky John Hogy Tail is a compact soft lure combining the features of a creature bait and a curly tail grub. It measures 6.35 cm (2.5 in) and has a ribbed body with four flexible appendages that move during the retrieve and on the drop.
The slim body works well with light weights, while the mobile tail sections remain active even during a slow presentation. This makes Hogy Tail suitable for perch and zander, particularly when the fish are feeding close to the bottom or responding to a more subtle retrieve.
The lure can be rigged on a standard jig head, presented on a drop-shot rig or used with Carolina and Texas setups. It performs well with short lifts, slow dragging along the bottom and precise presentations around rocks, vegetation and other cover.
