Microbait Chafer is a series of small topwater wobblers designed for fishing in the upper water layer, where fish actively feed on insects. Their key advantage is a subtle, lightly shimmering action that closely imitates natural movement on the surface and just below it.
These lures work very shallow – down to approximately 40 cm – making them ideal for fishing over vegetation, along riverbanks, and in areas where fish collect food from the surface. The floating design combined with very low weight allows for precise and delicate presentation.
The Chafer series is primarily intended for chub and ide, but it can also be effective for other species feeding on small surface prey, such as trout, rudd or perch. In the right conditions, it may also attract larger predatory fish.
For optimal performance, the manufacturer recommends using a thin monofilament line and attaching the lure with a single snap without a swivel. This setup helps maintain the natural action and full effectiveness of the lure in the water.
