DAM Nova Tele Stellfish - Telescopic Fishing Rods

DAM Nova Tele Stellfish is a series of long telescopic fishing rods designed for static predator fishing with natural baits. Rods of this type allow anglers to position a deadbait rig precisely in a selected fishing spot without the need for long casts. Thanks to their lengths of 5.00 m or 6.00 m, the bait can be placed directly beneath the rod tip, including near reed beds, aquatic vegetation, submerged obstacles and other locations where pike and zander may be present. Both models have a casting weight of 50–100 g and a Moderate Fast action, combining a relatively quick rod response with a more progressive bend under load. The series has been developed for anglers who prefer more relaxed, static predator fishing techniques, where keeping the bait in a carefully selected position is particularly important.

DAM Nova Tele Stellfish rods are particularly suitable for fishing with deadbait float rigs, where the bait needs to remain close to a specific location. Unlike traditional spinning, where an artificial lure is repeatedly cast and retrieved, the Stellfisch technique involves positioning the rig precisely in the water and waiting for a bite. The considerable rod length makes it easier to place the bait beyond a strip of bankside vegetation, alongside reed beds or near areas that are difficult to reach with a shorter rod. It also helps reduce unwanted movement of the rig caused by wind or current, especially when the fishing line is held above the water's surface. This approach can be useful when targeting pike and zander in lakes, reservoirs and slower-flowing sections of rivers. The Moderate Fast action provides suitable characteristics for controlling the rig and absorbing sudden movements of the fish during the fight. Due to the length and weight of these rods, appropriately selected rod rests are recommended for static fishing, making it easier to keep the rig in the desired position. The telescopic construction also allows the rod to be prepared quickly for fishing while reducing its length during transport.

The DAM Nova Tele Stellfish series includes two models in lengths of 5.00 m and 6.00 m, differing in their number of sections, weight and transport length. The 5.00 m version features a seven-section telescopic construction, a casting weight of 50–100 g and a Moderate Fast action. The rod weighs 770 g and has a transport length of 118 cm when collapsed. The longer 6.00 m model consists of eight sections and also features a casting weight of 50–100 g and a Moderate Fast action, while its weight is 1010 g and its transport length is 125 cm. The shorter version may be a more convenient choice for fishing spots where maximum rod reach is unnecessary. The 6.00 m model allows the rig to be positioned farther from the bank, which can be important when fishing beyond bankside vegetation or in difficult-to-reach areas. Both rods combine a considerable working length with a collapsible telescopic construction, making it easier to transport equipment to the fishing location. DAM Nova Tele Stellfish offers a practical solution for anglers looking for long fishing rods designed for precise, static predator fishing with natural bait rigs.
