Dorado Alaska Fatty is a range of floating wobblers designed primarily for catfish fishing. Their compact body, relatively high weight and strong action make them well suited to trolling in rivers and reservoirs, especially where fish are feeding at medium depths.
The Alaska Fatty was developed for catfish fishing in situations where traditional deep-diving wobblers run too deep. The diving lip is matched to the lure so it can maintain an effective working depth while remaining stable even when used with thicker catfish line.
The 6 cm model weighs 26 g and reaches approximately 3.5 m when cast and retrieved, while in trolling it can dive to around 5 m. The larger 8 cm version weighs 60 g and reaches approximately 5 m when cast and retrieved and up to around 8 m when trolling.
Its strong, pronounced action and compact body suit the demands of catfish fishing. The Alaska Fatty performs well when trolled in river currents, along deeper channels and drop-offs, and across larger areas where the lure needs to maintain a consistent working depth for longer periods.
