CatOne NG

Mikado CatOne NG is an upgraded, reinforced version of the CatOne catfish fishing reel, designed for targeting large catfish with heavy bottom fishing rigs. Its construction is built to handle the substantial loads encountered when playing powerful fish. Reinforced gearing designed to withstand heavy loads, a powerful drag system and a large-capacity aluminium spool make the CatOne NG a practical choice for anglers who regularly target big catfish in demanding conditions. The reel is particularly well suited to bank-based catfish fishing on rivers and other waters where durability and reliable control during the fight are essential.

At the heart of the Mikado CatOne NG is its heavy-duty gearing with a 4.3:1 gear ratio, providing the power required to retrieve heavy bottom fishing rigs and handle strong fish. The reel features a precisely adjustable drag system with a maximum drag force of 20 kg, offering substantial stopping power when fighting large catfish. Smooth operation is supported by 10 bearings in a 9+1 configuration, including a one-way bearing that prevents the handle from rotating backwards. A balanced rotor, reinforced bail arm and CNC-machined aluminium handle complete a robust construction designed to withstand the demands of intensive catfish fishing.

The Mikado CatOne NG 8010 FD weighs 730 g and offers a line retrieve of 95 cm per handle turn, allowing anglers to retrieve heavy rigs efficiently, including when fishing at longer distances. Its large aluminium spool holds 440 m of 0.45 mm line or 360 m of 0.50 mm line. The generous spool capacity also allows anglers to use a substantial length of strong catfish braid, depending on the chosen diameter. Combining a high-capacity spool, reinforced gearing and a powerful 20 kg drag system, the CatOne NG provides the specifications needed for demanding bottom fishing setups.

Mikado CatOne NG is designed for catfish anglers who need a strong, dependable reel for static fishing with large natural baits and heavy bottom rigs. Its reinforced gearing helps manage the considerable loads involved in retrieving heavy tackle and fighting powerful fish, while the adjustable drag allows anglers to match the braking force to their line, rig and fishing conditions. The CatOne NG 8010 FD combines generous spool capacity, a reinforced bail arm, a durable CNC-machined handle and a powerful internal mechanism. It is a practical choice for anglers targeting large catfish who require a reel built to withstand heavy use.

Mikado
Mikado
Mikado is a brand founded in 1989 out of a passion for fishing. From the very beginning—starting first with import, then moving on to production and distribution of equipment—we have played a key role in shaping the Polish fishing market. The foundation of Mikado’s continuous growth is a close relationship with our customers, which, combined with the experience of our employees, ensures that gear bearing the Mikado logo meets the expectations and demands of modern fishing enthusiasts.

Our offering is created by a strong team of Product Managers who, in collaboration with engineers from top component manufacturers like Fuji, Sea Guide, and Toray, design increasingly innovative fishing equipment using the latest technologies. Our office in China oversees the entire production and logistics process. We also rely heavily on our brand testers worldwide, who form the Mikado Fishing Team. It is the hundreds of hours spent on the water that provide us with a real understanding of which design improvements will guarantee users the comfort and confidence necessary when using our equipment.

Completing this process is a dedicated sales department made up of both mobile and office staff. All the people who contribute to the Mikado family share one crucial common denominator—a boundless passion for fishing. Thanks to this passion, our regular product range includes over 14,000 items covering most fishing methods, enabling millions of satisfied customers worldwide to enjoy their fishing experience.

Our modern B2B ordering system and professional warehouse organization allow us to ship orders within 24 hours. We send over 4,500,000 products annually to our partners.

Mikado is a strong, international brand with an established position. For years, we have been executing an expansion plan into new markets across Europe. Our first foreign breakthrough was entering Russia, where Mikado products quickly gained popularity and became a staple on fishing store shelves. The next step was a move westward in Europe, followed by expansion in all directions across the continent. Today, Mikado products can be found virtually from the Middle East to Scandinavia.

Since 2019, we have operated direct distribution in nine European countries, which together with Poland form our core domestic market. These countries are: Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, Finland, and Sweden. Sales are based on the company’s own structures and coordinated directly from headquarters in Poland. Our export strength is built on an excellent ratio of high product quality to price, well-organized and fast logistics, and product availability—something difficult to maintain for most manufacturers during the pandemic.

Mikado quickly became the most popular spinning brand in countries like Finland and Estonia. Fishing techniques and methods vary widely around the world, so based on the feedback from our testers, every season we create products dedicated to specific countries, perfectly tailored to anglers’ needs.

We can say with full confidence that in the coming years, our brand will not stand still—in fact, quite the opposite. We are ready to conquer the whole of Europe, delivering fishing gear made by anglers for anglers to an ever-growing number of customers. Our brand does not follow new trends—Mikado sets them!
