MADCAT X-ZIBIT Sharpshooter – Catfish Rod

MADCAT X-ZIBIT Sharpshooter 215 is a specialized catfish rod designed for the modern sharpshooting technique, which involves accurately presenting lures to catfish located using forward-facing sonar. This model is primarily intended for active catfish fishing from boats and belly boats, where quick reactions and precise casting are essential. Its 2.15 m length provides excellent lure control and comfortable handling in confined spaces. The short handle allows anglers to make quick, accurate casts and respond efficiently to changes in the position of fish displayed on the sonar screen. This makes the rod particularly suitable for targeting individual catfish detected beneath or around the boat.

The rod is built around a reinforced 24T carbon blank, combining excellent responsiveness with substantial power reserves needed when fighting strong catfish. Its medium-fast action enables precise lure presentation, quick reactions to bites and effective hooksets. The responsive tip section helps absorb sudden movements during a fight, while the powerful butt section provides the strength required to maintain control over large fish. The rod features a SeaGuide XSS reel seat, ensuring secure reel attachment during demanding fishing sessions. Its manageable construction is particularly useful when frequently repositioning the boat, monitoring fish activity on sonar and making accurate casts towards selected targets. The combination of strength and relatively low weight also makes this model comfortable to use during longer fishing trips involving constant lure presentation and actively searching for catfish.

MADCAT X-ZIBIT Sharpshooter 215 measures 2.15 m and has a casting weight rating of 50–150 g, making it suitable for artificial lures used in active catfish fishing. The rod weighs just 263 g, features a two-piece construction and has a transport length of 158 cm. Its medium-fast action provides an effective balance of casting accuracy, flexibility and the power required to fight large catfish. The compact length allows easy handling from a boat, while the strong blank helps maintain control during powerful runs and sudden changes of direction. Designed for precise lure placement and demanding fights, the X-ZIBIT Sharpshooter is an excellent choice for anglers seeking a lightweight, accurate and durable catfish rod for sharpshooting, especially when fishing with modern forward-facing sonar technology.
