Mepps Bug is a spinner, which is supposed to imitate an insect flying out or rising from the water. A paddle with a "doubled" shape, veining on its surface - and here are the wings. It would seem that since the palette is spinning, both its shape and decoration are an exaggeration, because the fish will not see it anyway. And yet ... The Bug has a similar tendency to the Comet - every dozen turns it changes the spinning direction and for a fraction of a second the wings are perfectly visible. This is enough for the fish to associate the bait with the insect. The beatings usually happen just after the direction of rotation is changed. Another advantage is the segmented, insect body.
