DAM Nova Planer - Trolling Rod

DAM Nova Planer is a trolling rod designed for targeting predatory fish from a moving boat, with particular emphasis on setups using planer boards. Their purpose is to move the lure away from the boat's path, allowing anglers to cover a wider area of water and spread their fishing lines farther apart. The Nova Planer rod has been developed to withstand the constant loads characteristic of trolling. Its suitable power rating and Moderate Fast action help maintain control over the setup and respond to strikes while the boat is moving. The 2.40 m model with a 20–35 lb power rating is suitable for fishing with heavier trolling setups. It is a practical choice for anglers looking for a rod that allows lures to be presented at a controlled distance from the boat, whether trolling with a single setup or using several lines simultaneously.

The DAM Nova Planer trolling rod features a blank constructed using Powerfiber technology, designed with an emphasis on durability and reliable performance under load. Its Moderate Fast action combines flex in the upper section of the rod with a stronger lower section, which is particularly useful when towing lures behind a boat and fighting fish. This action helps absorb changes in line tension that may occur during trolling, especially when using planer boards to move the fishing line away from the boat. The construction is complemented by stainless steel guides, a DPS reel seat and an EVA foam handle. The guides ensure smooth line movement along the blank, while the reel seat provides secure reel attachment. The EVA handle offers a comfortable grip when preparing the setup and fighting fish. The two-piece construction makes the rod easier to transport and store after fishing.

The DAM Nova Planer trolling rod has a length of 2.40 m, a power rating of 20–35 lb and Moderate Fast action. It weighs 395 g, consists of two sections and has a transport length of 130 cm. The 20–35 lb power rating allows anglers to select the rod for trolling setups operating under greater loads. Its 2.40 m length provides suitable reach when positioning fishing lines from a boat and helps keep the line clear of the boat's immediate outline. When using a planer board, it is important to select the appropriate line, reel and other components to match the loads experienced during fishing. The rod can be used for trolling in waters where planer boards help distribute lures more effectively and cover a wider fishing area. Its carefully selected action helps maintain line tension and absorb sudden movements during strikes and fish fights. DAM Nova Planer is a practical choice for anglers looking for a durable trolling rod designed for use with planer boards, offering a strong construction, Moderate Fast action and specifications suited to demanding trolling applications.
