Guideline Coastal 2.0 Shooting Heads are designed for both coastal and freshwater fly fishing. Their construction is based on the taper and design of the Coastal Evolve WF series, with a medium-length head developed for long casts while maintaining good control during presentation.
The complex taper includes a Power-Boost section near the front, helping maintain loop momentum and controlled turnover, including in headwind conditions. The design also improves side stability, helping the line track more accurately in crosswinds.
A transparent front section reduces visibility in clear water, while the pale rear colour helps identify different densities. Small, strong factory-made loops are fitted at both ends, and the rear section also features printed line identification.
Coastal 2.0 Shooting Heads are built on a Direct Contact core with only 6% stretch, supporting sensitivity and bite detection. They also use Triple Layer Technology and a polyurethane coating that is PVC-free.
The currently available Slow Intermediate version is rated #6/7, weighs 16 g / 247 grains and has a head length of 9.20 m. It is suitable for fishing from a boat as well as while wading.
