Lew's KVD Series is a line of baitcasting reels developed in collaboration with legendary professional angler Kevin VanDam. Designed for anglers who demand accuracy, casting distance and reliability, these reels combine advanced engineering with practical features that perform in real fishing conditions. The Lew's KVD reels are built to maximize casting control and efficiency. The braking system combines externally adjustable magnetic braking with internally adjustable centrifugal braking, allowing anglers to fine-tune the reel to match lure weight, casting style and weather conditions. This configuration helps reduce backlashes while maintaining excellent casting distance and repeatable accuracy.

At the core of the construction is a rigid one-piece aluminum frame paired with graphite sideplates, providing strength while keeping overall weight balanced. Precision-cut hard anodized aluminum Speed Gears® manufactured on Hamai CNC machines work together with the P2 SuperPinion™ gear system to ensure proper gear alignment and long-term smoothness during retrieves.

The reel features a premium bearing system with stainless steel double-shielded ball bearings that support fluid and consistent operation. A carbon fiber drag system delivers strong and reliable drag pressure when fighting powerful fish, while the Zero Reverse® one-way clutch bearing ensures instant hook-setting power with no handle backplay.

Additional practical elements improve everyday usability. The anodized aluminum 34 mm U-shape spool supports long casting performance, while the zirconia line guide helps reduce line wear during repeated casts. A 95 mm bowed aluminum handle with EVA knobs provides a secure grip and comfortable cranking power, and the patented retractable Speed Keeper® allows anglers to secure lures without damaging the reel. Combined with the Speed Lube® system and external lubrication port, the Lew's KVD Series offers smooth performance and long-term durability in a wide range of fishing conditions.
