MADCAT X-ZIBIT Pelagic – Catfish Rod

MADCAT X-ZIBIT Pelagic 190 is a specialized catfish rod designed for pelagic catfish fishing from boats and belly boats. It has been developed for actively targeting large catfish suspended in the water column, particularly in deep and extensive fishing grounds. Pelagic fishing involves presenting a lure precisely at a selected depth, often with the assistance of fish finder technology. Thanks to its compact 1.90 m length, the rod offers comfortable handling in confined spaces and excellent control over lures presented directly beneath the boat. This model is particularly suitable for targeting catfish in deep reservoirs and river channels, including during colder months when fish often remain in deeper water.

The rod is built around a 24T carbon blank, combining sensitivity with the power reserves required when fighting large catfish. Its medium-fast action provides precise lure control, effective bite detection and reliable hooksets. The responsive blank also helps absorb sudden runs during demanding fights. The 50–150 g casting weight rating allows anglers to use lures suitable for pelagic fishing, including appropriately weighted soft plastic lures. The rod features a SeaGuide XCSS trigger reel seat, designed for secure baitcasting reel attachment and comfortable handling during active fishing. It is also equipped with a reinforced Double Stone tip guide, intended to withstand the considerable forces encountered when fighting powerful fish. This combination of components supports accurate lure presentation and effective control over large catfish directly beneath the boat.

MADCAT X-ZIBIT Pelagic 190 measures 1.90 m and has a casting weight rating of 50–150 g. The rod weighs 253 g, features a two-piece 1+1 construction and has a transport length of 129 cm. Its compact design makes it easy to handle from a boat or belly boat, while the medium-fast action provides a balance between sensitivity and the strength needed to fight large catfish. The SeaGuide XCSS reel seat allows the use of a baitcasting reel, making the rod particularly suitable for active pelagic fishing techniques. This model is intended for anglers who require precise lure control when targeting fish suspended at different depths. MADCAT X-ZIBIT Pelagic combines compact construction, excellent sensitivity and substantial power reserves, offering reliable performance when targeting large catfish in deep water.
